Job Title:      Telecommunication Specialists

 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

These positions provide telecom support to meet our growing client requirements. The majority of work is to resolve client telecom trouble tickets and requests for MACs (move/add/change).  In addition, this position may be asked to manage/oversee preventative maintenance actions or system upgrades. Our personnel work closely with client customers to resolve their requests and meet their requirements.  Positions are normally in the Washington, DC area, but can be in other locations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

·        Perform MAC requests as required.

·        Troubleshoot voice circuit (i.e. POTs, T1 PRI, etc.) issues as required

·        Ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time and within customer’s budget

·        Ensure all helpdesk tickets are resolved in a timely manner

·                                 Provide day-to-day support to our clients, as requested

·        Perform other duties as required.

·        Applicant must be available for after hours work.

 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to use the Internet to perform research and obtain software
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple complex tasks
  • Ability to work well both individually and within a team environment
  • General telecommunications principles and practices

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·        Education:  High School, 2-year Associate Degree preferred

·        Specialized Training:  Avaya system programming experience to include Definity and S8xxx server products, Octel and Modular Messaging voice mail systems. Cisco CM Express, Nortel, and InterTel experience would be a plus

·        Previous Experience:  Minimum 5 years Avaya programming experience and 8-10 years in telecommunications field
